Accommodation
Most participants stayed at the Hera hotel, located at the gates of the Łazienki park, one of the most beautiful in Warsaw, with a straightforward connection to the University campus.
For a slightly better map and some more information on the hotel,
consult an external
page that our colleagues prepared for their conference. There is
also an outdated document, prepared for GLiP-5, on how to move around Warsaw with GLiP on
your mind (note: the regular taxi fare today is around 2 PLN).
Maps and such
a Google map
The map below shows the route from the International Airport to "Hera", and from there to the University campus (this is meant for car drivers, buses take a straight route between "Hera" and the Uni).
You can also have a look at the route from Warszawa Centralna (the railway station) to "Hera" and from Warszawa Cetralna to the campus.

photometric maps
To look at these, you need to install a special plugin from http://mapa.warszawa.um.gov.pl/ (a City Council, .gov-type site). They speak Polish to me, but that may be up to the locale.
Have a look at the University Campus, the restaurant (the red-roofed building in the centre; the address is Foksal 18), and the hotel (white, slightly curved).
